Ruth L. Steffers

	Ruth L. Steffers, 79, 0f DuQuoin, passed away at 9:47 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2001 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
	 Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Sunfield Methodist Church.
	She was born January 19, 1922 at Kenosha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Daniel C. and Lenore (Flatter) Davies.  She married William F. Steffers on January 23, 1944 at Toledo, Ohio and he survives.
	She is survived by her husband of DuQuoin; six sons, Fredrick Steffers of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Steffers of White Lake, Wis., Roger Steffers of Maurepas, La., Daniel Steffers of Atlanta, Ga., Robert Steffers of Panama City, Fla. and Alan Steffers of Robin Air Force Base, Ga.; two sisters, Margaret Hackbarth of Waupaca, Wis. and Ellen Shuemate of Kenosha, Wis.; a brother, Daniel Davies of Highland, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents.
	Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 3 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Rev. Jerry Dunn officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Cremation followed the funeral service.
	Memorials may be made to Sunfield United Methodist Church.
